Susquehanna Valley Center Launches VoiceofPa.Net

On April 13, 2006 The Susquehanna Valley Center for Public Policy, launched a new interactive web site - www.thevoiceofpa.net. The site is Pennsylvania's website for television, radio, and streaming media webcasts focused on PA government, politics, and culture.

TheVoiceofPA.Net features radio programs, television programs, campaign talks, TV talk shows, commentary and other media from Pennsylvania citizens, liberal and conservative alike. All issues Pennsylvania - ranging from Pennsylvania politics, to music, sports, and culture - are highlighted on the web site. The Susquehanna Valley Center's site also will air live some of the programs aired on WHP Radio in Harrisburg. The daily programs of RJ Harris in the Morning (Monday-Friday 5am to 9 am) and The Bob Durgin Show (Monday-Friday 3 to 6 pm) that air on WHP Radio will also air live on thevoiceofpa.net Weekend programs, such as Saturday Mornings (Saturday, 7-8 am), Legends of Success with John Resnick (Saturday 8-9 am), The Plant Doctor (Saturday, 9 am -12:45 pm), Medical Matters (Saturday 1-2 pm), Financial Freedom (Saturday, 2-3 pm), Let's Talk Travel (Saturday, 3-4 pm) will also be airing live on the site as well.

Besides thevoiceofpa.net, The Susquehanna Valley Center also produces the Behind the Headlines television program, which airs on over 45 cable systems across the Commonwealth. The Behind the Headlines program will also air on thevoiceofpa.net.

Saturday evenings will also feature a personality that for years was a staple of Saturday evening entertainment in central Pennsylvania. John Patterson, longtime host of The Chords Are Stacked, which featured an eclectic mix of songs on WITF Radio will host The Song Parlor with Johnny P, on Saturday evenings from 8 to 10 pm on thevoiceofpa.net.

"Now, in one sense, you can always have Pennsylvania with you," says Clifford Frick, program director of thevoiceofpa.net and Administrative Director of The Susquehanna Valley Center. "People from all over the world will be able to stay in touch with what is current in Pennsylvania politics, culture, and entertainment at one click, plus be able to hear live programming from all across the Commonwealth," says Frick. Dr. Charlie Greenawalt, Senior Fellow of The Susquehanna Valley Center for Public Policy, points out that this new web site helps fulfill the Susquehanna Valley Center's purpose to educate Pennsylvanians on current policy issues affecting their lives. "Through the web site, and the Behind the Headlines television program that we produce, Pennsylvanians will have access to a variety of different views and issues," says Dr. Greenawalt.

Besides Behind the Headlines and the WHP radio programs, other programs on thevoiceofpa.net are: Commentary from The Susquehanna Valley Center on Public Policy, The Allegheny Institute Report, The Lincoln Journal Report, The Common Good, Youth Culture Today, The Lowman Henry Show, and The Life and Money Show with Doug Keegan.

Listeners as well are invited to submit commentary and programs. "This web site is designed to truly be a voice for all Pennsylvanians to express themselves and also comment on the vital issues affecting their lives," says Greenawalt. Information on submitting programs can be found on the www.thevoiceofpa.net. Future plans are to simulcast more radio programs airing across the state as well as other television programs.
